Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 by

Listen up, gumshoes: Pedro Diego’s is missing!

And it has been replaced by Toma’s.  (Anyone tried it out yet?)

Toma's, 35 Washington St.

Do it, Rockapella!

Toma bought Pedro Diego’s in January. he no longer serves Mexican food, but does do Italian and All American. Margaritas and beer are still flowing. He was hoping to bring a more family atmosphere and bring in people who want to dine rather than just drink. Toma was the manager of Pedro’s for about 6 years and finally took the plunge in January when Jim sold him the restaurant. I <3 Toma!

I think Toma is a great guy and I hope this turns out to be a success for him. However, the place is now nothing more than a pizza/sub shop with a full bar. Frankly the only reason to go there is for the bar which does not seem conducive to attracting more families. There is a lack of Mexican food in the area so I think it was a mistake getting rid of it. Hopefully the new place opening at State Line Plaza will fill the void.
